"A creative man is motivated by the desire to achieve, not by the desire to beat others. "

~ Ayn Rand

Build something special today - even if it is immediately intangible as someone's confidence and self worth...

Tuesday

"Well done is better than well said."

Well done is better than well said.”
Benjamin Franklin
Perhaps this one is as much for me, purveyor of the Mojo, as it is for all of you all... but there is something undeniably true that words and actions don't always equate.

While we express our intentions with words, we express our selves with actions.  Be someone who's words are positive, but also someone who actions mirror their words.  It takes words to gather support and momentum, but no one will follow you until you begin to actually GO somewhere...

Make today and awesome day - and one full of action and purpose!

Monday

"It usually takes more than three weeks to prepare a good impromptu speech."

~ Mark Twain

This quote might be more for me than you, my friends and readers.

It's just a great reminder that the most "off the cuff" and natural speakers and presenters are usually the most well prepared as well.  I'd say it goes for most things in life - if you want great things to "just happen" to you, work your butt of to put yourself in situations to ensure that they do!

Opportunities are like sunrises. If you wait too long, you miss them.

          ~ William Arthur Ward

Today is the first day of the rest of your life.

Overwhelming?  Exciting?  Invigorating?

I lean towards "energizing."  The funny thing about opportunities is that everyone has them everyday, but most people watch them whizz past in a barely decipherable blur; they are just more noise in a caucaphonous day - it blends in with everything else.

But successful people recognize opportunities where most people let them fly past; they are smart enough to know they often come disguised as "change" "conflict" "failures" and "disappointments."

Be on the look out for opportunities all around you today and grab them with both hands.  Just like the sunrise they are there every day - it's just up to us to GRAB THEM.

Saturday

"Put on your red shoes and dance away the blues..."

Let's Dance
Put on your red shoes and dance away the blues"
~ David Bowie

First off, anytime I can kick off the Mojo with a lyric from one of the most underrated awesome artists of all time - rock on!

I love this lyric.  It speaks to the power of embracing the day and embracing the moment.  We don't control every situation we are presented with, but we DO control how we respond to it.  Put on your red shoes.  Get up!  Get moving!  Face the day with excitement and enthusiasm.

There is nothing more precious that the gift of being able to impact and alter our environment, and therefore our very existance.  Each of us has this gift; so few of us use it.

Put on your red shoes today and make it an awesome one...

~ Chris.
